October - Valentine River

Valentine River
Listen to Valentine River now...
Valentine River formed in the spring of 2008 in the dusty halls of their music college in West London. What was originally only meant to be a college project soon evolved into something more. Consisting of Steve Pawlyk's crazy keys, Aled Williams gigantic guitar solos, Greg Hoffman's booming bass lines and Nico Triya's deliriously dangerous drums; thrown in with a bit of burlesque extravagance from Elisabeth Valentine, and you have yourself a concoction of naughtiness you cannot help but dive into...enjoy!

September - No Sharp Objects

No Sharp Objects
Listen to No Sharp Objects now...
Formed in 2005 out of an acoustic duo of Mike and Nigel producing chilled out tunes in Brighton & Hove, No Sharp Objects kicked it up a notch in 2008 when they plugged in to go electric with the addition of long term friend and drummer Dawn. The band set about re-writing some of the acoustic tracks to fit a harder, louder and altogether new sound, whilst writing new material to fit the new approach. The result is a vibrant sound of energetic indie / rock, tribal beats and hard hitting 'wall of sound' moments... enjoy!

June - Deportivo

Deportivo
Listen to Deportivo now...
At the start of September 2006 a group of like-minded musicians gathered in a West London studio with a handful of song ideas, bags of enthusiasm, a few favourite records and a 'never say die' mentality.

Over 1 year later, and fuelled by 7524 cups of coffee, 2521 cups of tea, 9354 Marlboro Lights, tears, tantrums, and toilet gigs, Deportivo had captured 16 tracks of great, thumping, joyous, classic English pop.

With heavy influences from the likes of Squeeze, XTC, ELO, Blur, Supertramp and many more, Deportivo songs sound like they were written during a particularly good seaside holiday in 1974 combined with a three-week bender full of romantic liaisons on 0-0 draws in the less salubrious drinking holes and back streets of any major city in the UK.

If you like your bands with an air of arrogance, more style than content and some interesting and angular guitar riffs, there are about 500,745 to choose from. If you want a band that will make you smile and hum as you hack to work on a packed Monday-morning Northern Line tube train, it is really time that you had a listen to Deportivo.
